Feeling very much like a Freddie Wong video the fella’s from corridor digital (The creators behind “SYNC” )….(You should google that by the way ) Have made  a very well produced short video clip using many video game characters from games such as Mass Effect3, Halo and even Mario Bro’s to great effect. I highly recommend you check it out.

Word on the street tells me that Valve will be releasing DLC for Portal 2 allowing users to create test chambers ( puzzles) and Share them online. While it also tells me this will only be available for PC and Mac users on May 8th we can only hope it will also be possible to create levels on PS3 or at least be able to play the3 user made tests on PS3.

An infinite number of levels for one of the greatest games ever made? If they can do with this what Media Molecule for the Little Big Planet 2 community, It would be The number 1 must own game to be had.

When I asked when PSN Plus members will be allowed into the beta I got the following reply.

Playstation plus is worth its price as I get lots of free games during the course of a year but the main reason i purchased my + account is to play the beta’s first. While PS3 Plus members are not alowed into the Dust514 beta just yet I feel sure we will be first in once the majority of bugs and glitches have been fixed.  As CCP said “PS+ subscribers count is huge, and letting everyone in at the same time is currently impossible due to technical limitations of the beta itself” it seems they will no doubt use the PSN+ subscriber community in a test to see how the servers hold up before letting pretty much everyone in the world with a PS3 to join in.

Hope they’re ready for us :)

I just used my redeem code myself to begin the download.

the EU beta weighs in at 1628MB’s  and features 2 maps,: Pipeline and Mill.

Also 2 game modes are included: Conflict and Saboteur.

Come on you guys, give us full permission to use your content to further advertise your games while making a little money for our time in the process, it doesn’t cost you anything.

Further more, Battlefield3 now allows users to rent severs on PS3 and the prices aren’t exactly cheap. The only reason I can see myself renting one is to use it for recording content for a youtube video but as it’s seriously difficult to put ads on BF3 videos I can’t see the point.

The live demo was streamed to 7000 viewers watching via EveTV and 700,000 viewers via PlayStation Home. Seeing as the game willbe free to download and play you can bet the PS3 players will come in their  millions, Sure some will not play for long and not get immersed into the game but I think for the most part those who enjoy team combat will become addicted to the huge MMO scale of Dust514.

During the demo it was revealed that there will be thousands of planets each with their own attributes which to me tells me the maps will never become boring as you will hardly ever play on the same map twice.

The Dust514 AAA MMOFPS will be releasing this year in 2012.

There will not be an unfair advantage between Aurum and Isk. (Aurum can be purchased on the PlayStation Store and Isk seems to be obtainable in game while playing Dust514)

The demo was played on what was considered a small map which spanned approx 2 miles wide.

Dust514 seems to have a limit of 24 vs 24 players.

If you wish to earn every player and weapon stat it could take you up to 7 years of gameplay.

Dust514 has a light aim assist for the unskilled players.

The commander role in dust514 will be as complex as the Fleet Commander in Eve.

This highlight of the demo has to be when a player in Dust514 called out co-ordinates to an Eve player who then proceeded to LET IT RAIN on the enemy with a barrage of firepower from above. They announced that this was a lucrative battle which obviously means this won’e be something you see all  the time in Dust514 as it must cost a large amount of Isk to the Eve player. Seeing this demo gave me that feeling I have when I see a game demo where there is a lot to learn. Dust514 looks great and with a possible 7 years of gameplay under the hood I feel sure I’ll be hooked on it for a fair amount of time this 2012.

I finally found some free time to blog, everything’s been pretty much none stop since I got to Corfu (Greece).

So it seems the average internet speed here is a 2MB connection which gives out about 1.5download and 0.3 upload speed. Not as much as I’m used to but it works and I tried it out on a coop game of Uncharted3 with @Evilbanana91 the other night. I didn’t notice any lag and the mic’s seemed fine so it’s all good there. I did notice the slow speed when I went to revision3.com on my PS3 browser to download the new EpicMealTime episode and back in the UK I sould normally let it download a few % then I would start to play but here in Corfu it’s best to download it then check back later to watch it ;)

I created a Greek PS3 account (RobGrooveGR) to see what options are available. I thought VidZone might be available here but when I started the app  it was a no-go. I looked on the store to see if any free TV streams or channels/apps were available but they don’t seem to have any of these services for PS3 here :( then I saw the games available on the PS store and thought they’re expensive.  Mass Effect 3 was  €69.99 which according to Google is approx $92.00 or £58.00 A friend once explained to me how the UK gets technology cheap. It’s basicly because we buy so much of it and in places like Greece, technology is a premium which means the good stuff is only for the privileged but after a quick search online I I found a brand new PS3 from a reputable dealer for  €259.00 which equates to around £216.00 which is about the going rate in the UK but the PS3 is not the newest tech out right now so the prices have dropped in recent years.

I still don’t understand why the Greeks have to spend the equivalent of $92.00 or £58.00 for Mass Effect 3 when in the UK it would cast £40.00 or $60.00 in the USA. Obviously there aren’t many PS3 owners in Greece otherwise there would be more services online for PS3 users which in turn would mean a slight price drop, so Ela malaka’s go buy some PS3′s.
